This solo piece was commissioned by Viki Marangopoulou for the 3rd Kalamata International Dance Festival as a short performance event for the opening night of a Nelly's photographic exhibition. I worked with Katerina Papageorgiou on the idea of a statue set on a base that comes to life and flits between all the expressionist movements and gestures that appear in the photographs, as if trapped in that era. This was my first non-narrative work - a composition of irrational movements arranged to music which proved to be very effective thanks to Katerina's striking performance (featuring her natural sense of poise and delay), to the elegant costume designed by Yannos Xenis, and to the brilliant, as ever, make-up by Angelos Mendis. It was charming to see Katerina take on the translucency of glass as she span on the opening night.
